My trifecta of computer geekdom is complete... |
|
Within the past week I have installed a new internal hard drive, a new internal DVD writer/drive, and just now 2 sticks of memory upgrading from 512mb total to a full gig.
For a decidedly non tech-head like myself this is huuuuuge. And I owe much of it to the fine people on DU who helped walk me through some of my problems.
Thanks everyone who chimed in and provided advice on my tech adventures.

There's no such thing as too much RAM.

2. Should I have done anything else with this? |
|
I pretty much just took out my old sticks and put in the new sticks.
On start up it sent me to the BIOS menu to set up and I went down to memory. There were like 3 or 4 options of numbers but none of them matched what I thought they would say. I chose the highest number.
Any other tips to make sure if this is working right?
My computer seems to be moving a little faster especially with multiple things running but still I want to make sure I did it right.
