List which DUers will be raptured. |
|
As you have heard on Fox News, the end is near. Which DUers are going to be raptured?
I'll start:

I have most of them on ignore. It's selfish, but it would save some clicking time for me.

8. I think the rapture already happened. |

Nobody noticed. In any case, all my Catholic paperwork wasn't in order. None of my paperwork is in order. I waste too much time on DU.

I am a Christian, and have absolutely no shame in saying it.

13. I've never felt any shame for being a Christian here on DU... |
|
There are a lot of very sweet people who post here on DU, some of them Christian, many of them not.
Is it the point of this thread to send accolades to these good, modest, and thoughtful people of DU? That would be very nice.
Unfortunately, I'm not sweet, I'm often shameless, and sometimes I'm thoughtless. A trap door to Hell opens up and down I go... almost every time, damn it.
Back to the subject of this thread:
When we talk about "The Rapture" we are usually talking about The Revelation of John, which is a very complicated text full of metaphor and strongly influenced (perhaps) by Ezekiel.
Or maybe talking to angels sometimes does that to a person... In any case, reading Ezekiel and Revelation will make your head hurt.
Frankly, the interpretation of these texts turns most people into blithering idiots, and then they write stuff like the "Left Behind" stories, or sing songs about invisible chariots and ships and trains coming down from heaven to save us.
Most of these songs are good and well worth singing, but I grow very weary of the writings and preachings many Christians spew about the Rapture.
Usually the "Rapture" is just a fancy way of telling someone to "go to hell" and you've got to call people on that every time.
Peace be with you, brother.
