I was asked a strange question, that I was not sure of the answer.
So of course since it was a strange question I figured I'd ask DUers.
How much water does a pregnant women lose when her water breaks?
When I had my son they broke the water at the hospital so I had no idea.

1. Gee, how much could it be?
I remember not just about soaking a regular maxi pad I had on (proactive - I did that when I was a few hours into labor), FWIW.

8. Fluid Ounce is a unit of volume, not weight

10. Not without specifying the density of the fluid

and its temperature and pressure may be significant in some cases

11. A quart or so, but
If your water breaks early in labor, your body will continue to produce more amniotic fluid. (My water was broken at about 24 hours; I delivered at hour 42.)
