Milli Vanilli was equal to two Terence Trent D'Arbys.
Terence Trent D'Arby was more popular than the Beatles in the eighties.

Milli Vanilli was Terence Trent D'Arby multiplied by a factor of two, and Oasis was more popular than Milli Vanilli, so Oasis had over twice the popularity of the Beatles in the nineties.

2. That's nice dear, now it's time to take your meds
You may hypothesize all you like about Oasis and the Beatles, but 40 years from now, people will still agree that the Beatles were the best, most influential band ever and that Oasis was a bunch of spoiled, wanker Beatles-wannabees.

But I do give you a  for your creative formula. Flat our wrong, but creative. :)

3. This is not a creative formula, but a mathematical proof.
Behold the science of synergy.

12. High school students often ask of algebra, "why do we have to learn this?"
This formula provides a compelling reason, even more so because it is a math problem which involves rock music.

4. If you stack them they'd make 4 Terences yet Oasis would still
be a bigger pile.

6. I loved the cultural revoultion that D'Arby sparked
Edited on Fri Jan-28-05 09:15 AM by deutsey
All the guys sporting the D'Arby moptop (and he really did have a hairstyle that resembled a mop, didn't he?)

Young people coming together, getting stoned, talking lefty politics, marching in the streets, breaking down old racial, sexual, and social barriers, all while grooving to D'Arby singing "Wishing Well" and "Sign Your Name Across My Heart".

Ah, those were heady days...

7. Have none of you heard "She Kissed Me"?
One of the greatest rock songs of the 90s, and it more than made up for "Sign Your Name" and "Wishing Well".

8. Yes.
The interesting part of my formula, though, is that when Terence Trent D'Arby gets more popular, so does Milli Vanilli and Oasis.

11. Brothers fighting is an instant advantage in the story of the artists.
That's another reason why the Kinks were more popular than the Beatles.
