I'm feeling good but guilty about it. |
|
I went out with my ex last night, she dumped me (after dating for over 4 years) a little over a year ago and we hadn't seen each other in about a year.
After we broke up I was a serious mess for a few months, but since we have last seen each other my life has taken a serious upswing.
Her life on the other hand has steadily deteriorated and she is now extremely depressed.
So even though I feel really bad for her, I feel really good today.
The other reason I feel guilty is because I let her flip through the pictures in my camera knowing that she would eventually land on my paycheck from last week. The look on her face was priceless, and she dumped me because she thought I was going nowhere.
So am I right to feel guilty, or should I just enjoy all of this self satisfaction?

1. I don't think you should feel guilty at all. |

5. LOL. I was going to ask the same thing. |
|
Why did you take a picture of your paycheck? Was it your first one, or your first one after a big raise?

7. Yer a jerk who apparently gets all your self-image from... |
|
...the reactions of others, and you are shallow as hell for arranging to go out just so you could demean someone else, and setting the whole thing up for maximum payback! Yer sick as hell for actually enjoying piling cruelty onto another human being when they are most vulnerable. It is plain you are the cause of a good deal of the reasons why your relationship didn't work out.
Well, you asked!
Other that that, have a ball.

and his life spiraled downward then got better than mine and ours had been afterward. It was the combo of us that was not good, and what caused his spiral down was his not believing we weren't really that great together (I referred to us as each other's 'sea anchors') When things got better for him, he perked right up, and deservedly so.
Congrats on the promotion, and feel good because you are doing well, not guilty that you're happy and she's not. We all make our own beds as responsible adults.
