It really irks me that Vangelis wouldn't release the songs as they were in the movie. Jerk.

|
Edited on Fri Jan-28-05 02:59 PM by sui generis
absolutely the soul of the movie
on edit: although an atheist I do have a flight of imagination that IF there had been such a person as this Jesus character he would have probably been pretty down to earth and human and not so much what the story of his story has evolved to be. This statement has everything to do with intellectual curiosity and nothing to do with awe of the divine.

29. Gabriel's best work was on Rabbit Proof Fence |
|
I have everything Gabriel has ever put out.
From The Lamb Lies On Broadway to his work with Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and Youssou N'dour.
The only other concerts I've seen more than Gabriel is U2, but only by one concert (11).
My collection of Gabriel, including his work with World Record artists numbers over 150 CDs.
I've always been a fanatic of his work.

which is what I liked best (along with Ben Kingsley) about THAT movie, in that neither was nominated for an Oscar for score-and both had lots of work in it by (awed hush, please) Ravi Shankar.

49. AMERICAN BEAUTY is a great choice, Earth First. |
|
I would go with that one, or maybe one of these:
John Williams' WHERE EAGLES DARE (Richard Burton, clint Eastwood WWII thriller)
or
Jonathan Cauette's TARNATION (more a soundtrack of the director's life-themes than a composed score)
Great question.
