4. Linkin Park- Crawling. WORST SONG EVER.
crawling in my skin
these wounds they will not heal
fear is how I fall
confusing what is real

there's something inside me that pulls beneath the surface
consuming/confusing
this lack of self-control I fear is never ending
controlling/I can't seem

to find myself again
my walls are closing in
(without a sense of confidence and I'm convinced that there's just too much pressure to take)
I've felt this way before
so insecure

crawling in my skin
these wounds they will not heal
fear is how I fall
confusing what is real

discomfort, endlessly has pulled itself upon me
distracting/reacting
against my will I stand beside my own reflection
it's haunting how I can't seem...

to find myself again
my walls are closing in
(without a sense of confidence and I'm convinced that there's just too much pressure to take)
I've felt this way before
so insecure

crawling in my skin
these wounds they will not heal
fear is how I fall
confusing what is real

crawling in my skin
these wounds they will not heal
fear is how I fall
confusing confusing what is real

there's something inside me that pulls beneath the surface
consuming/confusing what is real
this lack of self-control I fear is never ending
controlling/confusing what is real

18. Ugh! That one most definitely takes the cake.
Although, I do remember the lyrics to an 80's hair band song, artist and title unknown, that went a little something like this:

"Well I'm a finder, and I'm a keeper;
I'm not a loser and I ain't no weeper!"

(yes, I really DID hear a song with those lyrics. And the singer was trying to sound really bad-ass as he sang them.)

5. I've always thought this line was just too trite and too stupid:
"They say they can break you again and again,
If life is a radio, turn it up to ten!"

6. Honey by Bobby Goldsboro.
The Smothers Brothers did the most hilarious send-up of this song.

See the tree, how big it's grown
but friend it hasn't been too long
it wasn't big

I laughed at her and she got mad,
the first day that she planted,
it was just a twig

Then the first snow came
and she ran out to brush the snow away So it wouldn't die

Came runnin' in all excited,
slipped and almost hurt herself
And I laughed till I cried

She was always young at heart,
kinda dumb and kinda smart
and I loved her so

And I surprised her with a puppy
Kept me up all Christmas Eve
two years ago

And it would sure embarrass her
When I came in from workin' late
'cause I would know

That she'd been sittin' there and cryin' Over some sad and silly late, late show

And honey, I miss you and I'm bein' good And I'd love to be with you if only I could

She wrecked the car and she was sad
And so afraid that I'd be mad
but what the heck

Though I pretended hard to be
Guess you could say she saw through me and hugged my neck

I came home unexpectedly
and caught her cryin' needlessly
In the middle of a day

And it was in the early Spring
when flowers bloom and robins sing
She went away

And honey, I miss you and I'm bein' good And I'd love to be with you if only I could

One day while I was not at home
while she was there and all alone
The angels came

Now all I have is memories
Of Honey and I wake up nights
and call her name

Now my life's an empty stage
Where Honey lived and Honey played
And love grew up

And a small cloud passes overhead
And cries down on the flower bed
That Honey loved

And see the tree how big it's grown
but friend it hasn't been too long
it wasn't big

And I laughed at her and she got mad
The first day that she planted,
it was just a twig

21. The worst song lyrics ever: Eleanor Rigby by The Beatles
Edited on Fri Jan-28-05 10:31 PM by damkira
I believe the musical term for this type of lyrics is treacle. In which anything is said to rhyme.

Ah, look at all the lonely people
Ah, look at all the lonely people

Eleanor Rigby picks up the rice in the church where a wedding
has been
Lives in a dream
Waits at the window, wearing the face that she keeps in a jar by
the door
Who is it for?

All the lonely people
Where do they all come from ?
All the lonely people
Where do they all belong ?

Father McKenzie writing the words of a sermon that no one will
hear
No one comes near.
Look at him working. Darning his socks in the night when there's
nobody there
What does he care?

All the lonely people
Where do they all come from?
All the lonely people
Where do they all belong?

Eleanor Rigby died in the church and was buried along with her
name
Nobody came
Father McKenzie wiping the dirt from his hands as he walks from
the grave
No one was saved

All the lonely people
Where do they all come from?
All the lonely people
Where do they all belong?

blah blah blah blah

22. I nominate Rick Astleys "Together Forever"
Together Forever
Rick ASStley

If there's anything you need
All you have to do is say
You knew you satisfy everything in me
We shouldn't waste a single day

So don't stop me falling
It's destiny calling
A power I just can't deny
It's never changing
Can't you hear me, I'm saying
I want you for the rest of my life

* Together forever and never to part
Together forever we two
And don't you know
I would move heaven and earth
To be together forever with you

If they ever get you down
There's always something I can do
Because I wouldn't ever wanna see you frown
I'll always do what's best for you

There ain't no mistaking
It's true love we're making
Something to last for all time
It's never changing
Can't you hear me, I'm saying
I want you for the rest of my life)

So don't stop me falling
It's destiny calling
A power I just can't deny
It's never changing
Can't you hear me, I'm saying
I want you for the rest of my life

23. I think Michael Bolton might be the Hackneyed KING
Love Is A Wonderful Thing

Birds fly, they don't think twice
They simply spread their wings
The sun shines, it don't ask why
Or what the whole thing means

The same applies to you and I
We never question that
So good, it's just understood
Ain't no conjecture
Just a matter of fact

Love is a wonderful thing
Make ya smile through the pouring rain
Love is a wonderful thing
I'll say it again and again
Turn your world into one sweet dream
Take your heart and make it sing
Love, love is a wonderful thing

The only thing a river knows
Is runnin' to the sea
And every spring when a flower grows
It happens naturally

The same magic when you're in my arms
No logic can define
Don't know why, just feels so right
I only know it happens every time

Oh when the cold wind blows
I know you're gonna be there to warm me
That's what keeps me goin'
And our sweet love will keep on growin'
_________________________________

SOUL PROVIDER

Talk about love, talk about trust
Talkin' 'bout forever baby
When I'm talkin' 'bout us
I give you my word, stick to my guns
Believe when I tell ya baby
That we've just begun

You don't understand, no
The full intent of my plan

I wanna be your soul provider
I wanna stay that way
For the longest time
I wanna be, your soul provider
Just say you'll let me
And darlin' I will

I know you've been hurt, I know you're love shy
You don't have to say it baby
It's gonna take some time
Ya got my heart, in the palm of your hand
Swear it's gonna stay there baby
Give me half a chance

You don't understand
The full intent of my plan

I've been waitin' for a long time for somebody like you
To give my love, all my love day and night
Just say you'll be mine for the rest of your life
Baby I'll show you why

24. The worst song ever..
Edited on Fri Jan-28-05 10:50 PM by BlackVelvetElvis
It was a choice between that 70's spew "Run Joey Run" or a song that was featured in the Toho classic "War of the Gargantuas". "The Words Get Stuck in My Throat" was covered by Devo (which I've never heard). This ranks (IMHO) as the worst song from a film EVER. The female lounge singer (Kipp Hamilton) sings this ditty before getting molested by the monster:

If I had a tiny microphone
Hidden in my heart
It would amplify my love for you
But the words get stuck in my throat
The words get stuck in my throat

If I had a little viewmaster
Stuck inside my brain
It would snap the pictures all of you.
But the words get stuck in my throat
The words get stuck in my throat

If I had a telegraph
Tapping in my brain
It would tap the morse code "I Love You."
But the words get stuck in my throat
The words get stuck in my throat

27. The King of Cliches is BRYAN ADAMS!
Due more to his titles than his lyrics, though. Check out this list of Bryan Adams songs (in chronological order):

LONELY NIGHTS
STRAIGHT FROM THE HEART
CUTS LIKE A KNIF
THIS TIME
RUN TO YOU
SOMEBODY
HEAVEN
SUMMER OF '69
ONE NIGHT LOVE AFFAIR
IT'S ONLY LOVE
CHRISTMAS TIME
HEAT OF THE NIGHT
HEATS ON FIRE
VICTIM OF LOVE
(EVERYTHING I DO) I DO IT FOR YOU
CAN'T STOP THIS THING WE STARTED
THERE WILL NEVER BE ANOTHER TONIGHT
THOUGHT I'D DIED AND GONE TO HEAVEN
DO I HAVE TO SAY THE WORDS?
PLEASE FORGIVE ME
ALL FOR LOVE
HAVE YOU EVER REALLY LOVED A WOMAN?
THE ONLY THING THAT LOOKS GOOD ON ME IS YOU
LET'S MAKE A NIGHT TO REMEMBER
I FINALLY FOUND SOMEONE

32. OK. here's the worst. The Absolute. Worst.
Watching Scotty grow, by Mr Mac Davis, as sung by Bobby Goldsboro :puke:

There he sits with a pen and a yellow pad
What a handsome lad
That's my boy
BRLFQ spells mom and dad
But that ain't too bad
That's my boy
You can have your TV and you nightclubs
And you can have your drive in picture show
I'll stay here with my little man near
We'll listen to the radio
Biding my time and
Watching Scotty grow
Making a castle out of building blocks
And a cardboard box
That's my boy
Mickey Mouse says it's thirteen o'clock
Well that's quite a shock!
That's my boy
In four short years
I've gone from rags to riches
And what I did before that I don't know
So let it rain on my windowpane
I got my own rainbow
And we're sitting here shining
Watching Scotty grow
Riding on daddy's shoulders off to bed
Old sleepy head
That's my boy
Got to have a drink of water and a story read
A teddy bear named Fred
That's my boy
What's that you say momma
Come on and keep you feet warm
Well save me a place
I'll be there in a minute or so
I'll think I'll stay right here and
Say a little prayer before I go
Me and God
Watching Scotty grow
Me and God
Watching Scotty grow..:puke:

34. Pretty much anything by Van Hagar
How about this slice of aged cheddar....

Contact is all it takes
To change your life to lose your
place in time
Contact! Asleep or awake
Coming around you may wake up
to find
Questions deep within your
eyes,
Things you've never realized

So when you sense a change
Nothing feels the same
All your dreams are strange,
Love comes walkin' in
Some kind of alien
Waits for the opening
Then Simply pulls a string

Another world, some other time
You lay your sanity on the line
Familiar faces familiar sights
Reach back remember with all
your might
Ohh there she stands in a
silken gown
Silver lights shining down

So when you sense a change
Nothing feels the same
All your dreams are strange,
Love comes walkin' in
Some kind of alien
Waits for the opening
Then simply pulls a string, Love
Comes walkin' in

Solo

Sleep and dream is all I crave
I travel far across the milky way
To my master I become a slave
Til we meet again some other day
Where silence speaks as loud
as war
And the earth returns to what it
was before

So when you sense a chage
Nothing feels the same
All your dreams are strange,
Love comes walkin' in
Some kind of Alien
Waits for the opening
Then simply pulls a string, love
comes walkin' in

36. LFO - Summer Girls. These lyrics may loose your bone-lappings.
Edited on Sat Jan-29-05 02:50 AM by jpgray
Yeah...I like it when the girls stop by.. In the summer
Do you remember, Do you remember?
...when we met..That summer??

(Chorus)

New Kids On The block, had a bunch of hits
Chinese food makes me sick.
And I think it's fly when girls stop by for the summer, for the summer
I like girls that wear Abercrombie and Fitch,
I'd take her if I had one wish,
But she's been gone since that summer..
Since that summer

(Verse 1)

Hip Hop Marmalade spic And span,
Met you one summer and it all began
Your the best girl that I ever did see,
The great Larry Bird Jersey 33
When you take a sip you buzz like a hornet
Billy Shakespere wrote a whole bunch of sonnets
Call me Willy Whistle cause I can't speak baby
Sumthin in your eyes went and drove me crazy
Now I can't forget you and it makes me mad,
Left one day and never came back
Stayed all summer then went back home,
Macauly Culkin wasn't Home Alone
Fell deep in love, but now we ain't speakin
Michael J Fox was Alex P Keaton
When I met you I said my name was Rich
You look like a girl from Abercrombie and Fitch

(Verse 2)

Cherry Pez,cold crush,rock star boogie
Used to hate school so I had to play hookie,
Always been hip to the B-boY Style
Known to act wild and make girls smile,
Love New Edition and the Candy Girl
Remind me of you because you rock my world
You come from Georgia where the peaches grow
They drink lemonade and speak real slow
You love hip hop and rock n roll
Dad took off when you were 4 years old
There was a good man named Paul Revere
I feel much better baby when you're near
You love fun dip and cherry Coke,
I like the way you laugh when I tell a joke
When I met you I said my name was Rich
You look like a girl from Abercrombie and Fitch

(Repeat Chorus)

Bridge In the summertime girls got it goin on,
Shake and wiggle to a hip hop song
Summertime girls are the kind I like,
I'll steal your honey like I stole your bike

(Verse 3)

Bugaloo shrimp and pogo sticks
My mind takes me back there oh so quick
Let you off the hook like my man Mr. Lipit
Think about that summer and I bug, cause I miss it
Like the color purple, macaroni and cheese,
Ruby red slippers and a bunch of trees
Call you up but whats the use
I like Kevin Bacon,but I hate Footloose
Came in the door I said it before,I think I'm over you
but I'm really not sure
When I met you I said my name was Rich
You look like a girl from Abercrombie and Fitch
repeat Chorus

(Bridge)

In the summer girls come and summer girls go
Some are worth while and some are so so,
Summer girls come and summer girls go
Some are worth while and some are so so,
Summertime girls got it goin on
Shake and wiggle to a hip hop song
Summertime girls are the kind I like
I'll steal your honey like I stole your bike

(Repeat Chorus)
