Right now, I'm sicker than I've been in 20 years.

It began last night when I got home from work. I felt unusually tired and weak. When I tried to have supper, it felt as if I were swallowing rocks. I ended up going to bed last night at 9:00, which is extremely rare for me.

I just spent the day in bed, mostly asleep, and am still feeling tired. The only thing I've eaten all day was a bowl of white rice at around 10:00 this morning, and even that felt as if I had a ton of rocks in my belly. As I typethese words, my stomach is screaming for food, but I'm afraid to eat, like Raul Julia's character in "Kiss of the Spider Woman." I seriously doubt that I'll do my radio show tomorrow night.

You may be wondering why I don't go to the doctor. Since I moved last summer, my doctor's office is 25 miles from me. For the last 24 hours or so, I've been too weak to do much more than go to the bathroom, let alone attempt a 50-mile round trip in my car.

I haven't felt this sick since I was 19 years old and got food poisoning. That was in 1985. I hope it'll be at least another 20 years before I get this sick again! :puke:

1. If you have ginger capsules or ginger ale that might help.

Acidophilus capsules might also help normalize that intestinal flora so you might feel better.
Make sure you stay hydrated.

Are you taking any medication? Eaten anything out of the ordinary.
Anyone else near you who can drive you to the doctor?

If you do not feel a lot better by tomorrow, dial 911 and get an ambulance to take you to an emergency room.

3. At least call the doctor
Hopefully he/she will confirm that you have what sounds like the stomach flu. You really need to check with them.

Also drink plenty of fluids. Try broth, jello (even mix jello with water and don't let it set), mild juices like apple or grape, cool tea or just plain water.

(mommy out)

5. Don't forget to drink liquids. I was so sick once that I forgot to
drink liquids for three days. I just couldn't get out of the bed to cook or drink anything. Finally, it occurred to me that I needed to down some fluid. I ended up having an absess. I figured that out myself after several days in the bed.

6. There seems to be some wicked virus' floating around this year.
It sounds like one may have found you. Get rest, try to keep some liquids down. I hope you feel better in the morning.

8. I think I might be over the worst of it.
I had some supper an hour ago--a frozen dinner of chicken cubes, broccoli and noodles--and only experienced the "rocks in my stomach" sensation for about 10 minutes. The time before that, it stayed with me for an hour or more!

Plus, while listening to "The Majority Report" on Air America just now, I screamed at the radio that Richard Perle is a lying sack of shit. I'd say that's a step in the right direction! ;)

9. I'm glad you're feeling better
I went through a good bout with Norwalk last summer, on a camping trip no less, and believe me, I wouldn't even wish that on Hannity.
