Oops. Sorry. I was just testing out my new keyboard

Otherwise known as the "New standard keyboard"

http://www.engadget.com/entry/1234000813025740/

Who the hell thought up this idea? And do you think they got fired yet?

So much for QWERTY or DVORAK, this seems to be the future. Keyboards by Fisher Price.

:eyes:

1. I've spent my whole life typing in QWERTY, I really don't want another one
That keyboard looks like it belongs on a 3-year old's toy computer.

6. I'm actually trying to learn the DVORAK keyboard right now.
It's pretty interesting. But all in all, I'll always be a QWERTY guy.

2. I think that will fail to catch on.
I certainly hope so. That would drive me nuts. And where's the space bar?

5. The space-bar has been replaced by a single button.
I love how the vowels A,E and I are squished on one side of the keyboard.

And what's with the arrow buttons in the center like that?

8. That would slow my typing to 5 wpm or less.
I used a keyboard once where the space bar had been split in half, and one side was the backspace. I tried to type up my resume with it, and I kept backspacing when I meant to space. It was maddening. Why can't they just leave well enough alone? The people who design these weird keyboards never learned to touch type.

3. That's one of those keyboards
that's supposed to help prevent carpal tunnel syndrome.

9. It would reduce carpal tunnel, because frustrated people
would go back to longhand:)

7. Help , my heaf hurts trying to figure that out
I can't use that thing. I can barely type on this keyboard. If that catches on I am switching to voice recog software and dictation.

10. QWERTY keyboards were designed that way for a reason.
Why mess with it? I've been touch-typing since elementary school! I have no desire to learn a new keyboard, particularly that one.
