How do you feel about Queen touring with Paul Rodgers as the singer? I like Queen, I like Paul Rodgers, but I cannot see the two of them going together. It seems weird. Queen cannot be Queen without Freddie Mercury.

15. They appeared together at a British awards show a few months back |
|
...so there's a video out there. 2 clips actually. One is them performing a medley of We Will Rock You/We are the Champions, and the other is Rodgers' song "All Right Now" which he recorded with Free.
Let's put it this way.... the Free song is the better performance. Maybe they should hit the road as "Free" or "Bad Company" or even "Free Company" and just do the songs Paul Rodgers wrote.
Rodgers still has the same great voice he had in the 70's, but that does not give him Freddie Mercury's range.
This is a very bad idea.
If I can find the links again, I'll post them here.

Paul Rodgers? George Michael is the obvious choice, and Paul Rodgers doesn't even sound close.

8. The point is, Rodgers does not sound like Mercury. |
|

This is a poor comparison, but when Bon Scott died, the Young brothers went with Brian Johnson, because he did not sound like their dead front man. Back in Black sounds very different than Highway to Hell...too bad every other album with Johnson has sounded just like Back in Black! Brian May and the surviving members of Queen are artists, and want to move into different sounds. Anyone who bought the Red Queen album, or Sheer Heart Attack, Opera or Races was shocked with the disco beats on The Game.

5. Why do they have to tour? It's just like The Doors touring. |
|
It's just not the same.
There was only one Freddie. :(

If Paul Rodgers is going to sing with Queen -- they definitely should not call themselves "Queen."

12. I read that The Police want to reunite without Sting. |
|
That does not work. Someone please make it stop!!! Make it stop!!!! Please, all you people work together if you want to, but don't ruin your legendary names by using it in your collaborations.
God Damn Van Halen!!!!! They set the precedent. I guess you could say that Black Sabbath did it first, but they went under and wised up and reunited with Ozzy. But VH thought they could be VH without David Lee Roth and they were inexplicably successful. So now it seems to be a new trend.

16. There's no way the "Outfield" guy is joining the Police. |
|
Apparently that rumor came from MelodiCrock.com in Australia, which is the same hair-band worshipping site that once spread a rumor that David Coverversion was going to join Van Halen! Geezus, can we say "worse than Hagar?" worse than Cherone even. Poor Andrew... guy thinks he's got connections in the music business, but more often than not they turn out to be liars just using his site to publicize some tired 80's AquaNet wankers on their label.

there is no Queen without FREDDY; the remaining members should tour under a different name.

It is fine that they want to work with Paul Rodgers, but this is musical necrophilia.
