Poll question: What will I miss most? |
|
I'm only about 15 pounds overweight, but considering tomorrow is my 41st birthday and most of my relatives kick off from heart attacks in their early 50's, I'm determined to lose this excess weight.
Still, I am already feeling nostalgic for the things I'll have to give up. Help me decide what I should brood over losing the most.

3. I'd say the pepperoni stuffed crust pizza. |
|
I'm a major pizza lover! That's what I miss the most. Try lean pockets instead. It's a good substitute for the pizzahut pizza.

4. Ooh! I forgot about Lean Pockets! |
|
I remember them from the last time I lost weight about 6 years ago. You're right. I think I can live the Pizza Hut dream vicariously through Lean Pockets. Thanks for reminding me.

5. That's what I've been doing. |

I eat lean pockets almost everyday. They really help keep my pizza cravings in check.

6. you don't have to go without - it will just make you obsess and |
|
feel bad when you "fail". Go ahead and have them but try cutting the portion in half, or if you normally have them once a week make yourself go two weeks or whatever. Total denial is doomed to fail. You have to enjoy life, just do it a little more moderately. Same with the exercise - start easy. If you are not doing anything, a ten minute walk is a fine start - work up slowly, in time it will even be pleasurable - and every minute you are out is another minute not spent eating.
good luck.

This is all great advice. I lost 15 pounds about 6 years ago on Weight Watchers, so am following that plan again. I also recently moved 3 blocks from my college to encourage my walking.
Really, though, this was written more tongue in cheek. What I'll really miss is the over-eating said foods (or being so lazy and vain with the other options). This poll is me mocking myself for my human weaknesses! :spank: <-- Me spanking myself for such silliness. :silly:

It's not gonna work, depriving yourself of the foods you love.
Just eat smaller portions, and go for a walk after every meal. You'll be amazed at how the weight will slide off.
Feeling like you're deprived is a sure-fire way to fail.
Tits are overrated, by the way.................

like most fast foods, then I don't think that cutting the portion size will help much. You will most likely feel deprived because you won't be full. I think some of foods that are not so good for you should be substituted with something similar, but better for you.
This is what I did, and I have not failed. I've lost 35lbs.
Also, I recommend trying to increase your fiber intake. Fiber is good for you and makes you feel fuller.
Oh.. and you definitely need to be commited to exercising on a regualr basis to lose the weight and keep it off.

Fried cow meat is gross. There is blood and bone and shit in there. It is disgusting. And so are the french fries fried in fat.
Eat a baked potato with nothing on it except a llttle bit of salt.
You're doing fine.

22. Ice cream is not the worst treat in the world, |
|
depending on which kind you buy. I still get some ice cream every so often, but I only buy a pint to a time. This keeps me from over eating it. I don't eat the whole pint myself either. I always share the ice cream with my two year old son. He loves ice cream too.
I don't keep any sweets in the house. If I want them, I have to make a separate trip to the store to get them, and then I only buy as much as I'm going to eat in one sitting (no left over treats). I've found that this policy really works with me. I don't snack on sweets very much at all any more, because I've made it inconvenient for myself to do so.

IMO, the coolest thing to happen on this date in history (apart from our being born, of course) was that in 1936 Ty Cobb, Babe Ruth, Honus Wagner, Christy Mathewson, and Walter Johnson were the first players elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York.
Happy Birthday! :hi:

oh...maybe 2-3 months now?? Can't remember. Right now I'm craving a big huge fat juicy burger. No fries, jujst a burger with cheddar cheese, lettuce, pickles, mayo, mustard and ketchup. So that's what I voted!
Good luck to you!
