oh great. Now we got freepers on warcraft! |
|
here I was minding my own business, playingmy little gnome mage and killing evil stuff (yes, i am a big dork) on the World Of warcraft game when some people started dissing Micheal Moore, saying his entire career was based onlies, yadda yadda yadda, blah blah (the usual spiel) and I guess a sproof of What they say, they bring up FarenHYPE.
Don't even ask me what this has to do with a fantasy computer game world. I never figured out how this conversation started.
Has anyone else (who games online) had this happen?
I didn't bother geting into an arguement, of course, since I was there to play, not educate thereality chalenged. Any arguement would have devolved into one liners and annoyed everybody else. Still, I guess to does bug me a little.
There, now I feel better;-)

these people started telling me to prepare for the end of the world because Bush was going to make it so Jesus could return, or some such. It was pretty surreal. There I was running around shooting Nazis, and this man in Florida and a girl in Alberta were telling me that I wasn't taking the apocalypse seriously enough.

They might actually influence some of the gamers (especially younger ones) with their talking points. Do they have rules about the conversation being relevant to the game? If so maybe you could report these guys to the moderator. An invasion of political propagandists (of any stripe) could negatively impact the game experience for the real players. If you can't do that then ignoring them may be your best bet. If no one responds they may just give up and go away. If people do respond maybe you could politely request that the other players stick to the game since you are (I assume) paying for it.
