Confession Time: Name The Liberal Celebs You've Never Warmed To

On either a personal or professional level.

For me, there's some really strange ones: Alan Alda, Robin Williams and Jodie Foster as actors. I'm sure that they're fine actors, but they just bother me. I've never warmed to Robin's frantic humor, and I can't stand his "serious" stuff; Jodie - she's beautiful, she speaks fluent French, she's super smart, man, I'd marry her if I could..and I find her acting stiff and surface-oriented; and Alan Alda...he just bugs me.

OK. I've confessed. Anyone else?

I never seemed to like her, for some reason.

3. the later day Jack Lemmon

I like his early films like "Mr. Roberts", "Some Like It Hot" and "The Apartment", but by the mid 60's I felt he relied on the same old mannerisms for almost every film--there were exceptions, but he began to bug me.

14. Save the Tiger

Was a great movie, a better book...

He took on the role of crumbled middle age man defeated by his belief in the system in many important roles that looked at the downside of the end arr of the American Dream.....

4. Jerry Springer

I'm not at all thrilled he's our newest talk radio host. I find him quite repulsive.

I just don't like him.


I don't like Streisand either. She just seems so arrogant.

Never liked her as an actress and am pretty sure I never will.

And Alan Alda? He was fine as George Plimpton in The Paper Lion but, had I been stationed with his Hawkeye Pierce, with his self-righteousness, his moral purity, his more-liberal-than-thouness, I would've punched his lights out. And I'm not so sure there's much of a difference between Alda and Pierce, frankly.

he became by the end of the series? I could live with the skirt chasing, gin-drinking, practical joke loving Pierce, but you're right he did become holier than thou by the end of the show.

Sorry, I don't get it. Almost as overrated as the Grateful Dead.

Comes across as very self-absorbed.

That and he deserves to be beaten for Pearl Harbor.

I thought Pretty Woman was awful and I've not liked anything else she's been in.

13. I saw "Closer" a couple of weeks ago

Roberts was shallow/cold/distant in the film imo. The other three characters were very good, especially Clive Owen. One could connect with the others but not JR. And I've never seen, nor would I want to see, "Pretty Woman" LOL!

ps I liked Closer - black as coal but very good.

I agree with, they don't do much for me.

Streisand, in particular bugs me, so does Alda. It's funny but I can't even watch Scientific American on television cause Alda does it. He did do something for me once though; he made me see that television is generally worthless.
