Any good non-political blogs?

Anybody know any general interest blogs out there that are as well laid out, fast moving and informative as DU?

I quite like metafilter but there's not enough new content on it per hour to keep me interested. Other sites like plastic seem a bit geeky.

It started out as a culture blog -- art, literature, film, celebrity, snark -- but the blogger, Big Dan, recently was diagnosed with a recurrence of cancer. It's turned into one of the best disease diaries I've seen.

Big Dan is a non-fundie minister who leans Republican but is downright progressive on many issues, and an all-around good guy.

You say fast-moving, and that makes me think you are looking for message boards, as opposed to actual blogs (where generally it's one person posting, and others replying if they feel like it...)

Check out www.straightdope.com, hysterical stuff, funny message boards, tons of smart, hilarious people on there...
