10. I've always found the French Revolution to be interesting.
Then I read A Tale of Two Cities, and that really got me interested.

Then the history channel (I think it was anyway) had a special about it.

11. Can't believe nobody picked the Spanish Civil War
Had any of the WWII allies really intervened in this one, way may not have even fought WWII.

Instead, Britain, France and the US ignored the pleas of the democratically-elected Spanish Republican government for assistance when Franco and his Fascists tried to overthrow it. Only the USSR aided Spain in any meaningful way-- and it later turned out they were swindling the Spanish Republicans at the same time.

Thankfully, men and women from around the globe came to the aid of the Republic in the various International Brigades to fight fascism on the ground in Spain. Unfortunately, it was too little to save Spain from Franco and his German and Italian allies.

The Spanish Civil War was truly a missed opportunity for the US and western Europe to stop Fascism before it got out of control, and we totally missed it.
