My dog. He made a good first impression and I've had him for 12 years.

1. The first time I saw my cat

She was hiding on top of the fridge of the people we adopted her from, because she was scared. She's been with us for 16 years now, and is still a scaredy cat.

she was so friendly and sweet at the pound.

When we got her home it was another story. Totally.

3. well as I recall my dog was totally sweet for the first 48 hours

but when I left him alone for 2 hours on a Saturday he turned over plants, pooped on the rug, and went into the garbage. Good first impression, bad second impression. They know what they're doing.
