Pixies on Austin City Limits
Why the hell didn't I know about this? Half over, no tape in the VCR. We get a couple different PBS stations here, maybe its on a later one.

:sigh:

1. STFU! Really?!?
Got to see em at Coachella, and then in the fall at Berkeley, but I'd love to have an Austin City Limits performance I could tape.

Still have the Beck episode of ACL on tape; man, that was a great performance.

2. Check your local listings
Yeah, they are an odd choice for ACL, but what the heck - its a real crowd pleasure. Frank is one attractive man up close. LOL

They sound great!

3. It makes an odd sort of sense
Frank Black's post-Pixies stuff had a fairly heavy country vibe; hell, he had a guy that doubled on pedal steel.

PLEASE tell me they played "Gigantic."

5. damn, looks like a great set
"Hey" is an awesome song, and I've always been anazed that they are able to recreate the mood of the recording live.

6. ACL has been featuring lots of non-Country music lately.
Modest Mouse, Robert Plant, The Flaming Lips, Guided by Voices.
Sadly, the Pixies show didn't air on my local PBS affiliate tonight.
