He's a 16 year old skater punk who also makes amateur skateboarding movies. The only way I could be more shocked would be if I found out my mother hunts buffalo with a spear in the nude on weekends. Should I be worried? This is crocheting after all . . . :wtf:

38. hah
wanna join me in a singing of afternoon delight?

Afternoon Delight
The Starland Vocal Band

Gonna find my baby, gonna hold her tight
gonna grab some afternoon delight.
My motto's always been; when it's right, it's right.
Why wait until the middle of a cold dark night.
When everything's a little clearer in the light of day.
And you know the night is always gonna be there any way.

Sky rockets in flight. Afternoon delight. Afternoon delight.

Thinkin' of you's workin' up my appetite
looking forward to a little afternoon delight.
Rubbin' sticks and stones together makes the sparks ingite
and the thought of rubbin' you is getting so exciting.

Sky rockets in flight. Afternoon delight. Afternoon delight.

Started out this morning feeling so polite
I always though a fish could not be caught who wouldn't bite
But you've got some bait a waitin' and I think I might try nibbling
a little afternoon delight.

Sky rockets in flight. Afternoon delight. Afternoon delight.

Please be waiting for me baby when I come around.
We could make a lot of lovin' 'for the sun goes down.

Sky rockets in flight. Afternoon delight. Afternoon delight.

Repeat chorus.
Both of ya.

11. Crochet is therapy for people too dangerous for a pair of knitting needles
In crochet, one hook, no pointy ends. Much safer. We let our mom do it. We have a lot of weird yarn stuff to prove it.

Maybe we should have let her go after buffalo instead, after a good application of sun screen, of course.

My mom may have gotten him into that. She used to do that back before she because a full-time mommy. Thanks for the help.

8. I'm sure you already know this, but
whatever you do, don't make fun of him for it. And, no need to worry. You'd be surprised how many men take up that kind of craft. They're just usually not that open about it for fear of being laughed at. My dad's best buddy at the GM assembly plant that he'd ride Harleys with made the most lovely wall hangings with counted cross stitch.

He'd wrestle me to the ground if I made a peep about it. No worries there. I actually have done some needlepoint in my life, so I'm not planning on making fun of him for it. He's got more things to make fun of me for. It's just so . . . not my brother, or at least what I think he's like.

31. Someone I once worked with
Was a hard rock and heavy metal fan. And she was in her sixties and very grandmotherly (in fact, WAS a grandmother). We were all talking about the kind of music we like, and when she told us that, our jaws dropped. People really can surprise you. It's one thing to know that you can never judge based on outward appearances, but I think we all tend to do that anyway, to some extent.

9. I've forgotten who it was
but there was some famous British politician who used to knit. I think he even brought his knitting into Parliament.
But then again, a lot of men from his costintuency used to knit. Something about seafaring people keeping their hands busy, akin to the Nantucket basket-weaving tradition over in Massachusetts.

I've done needlepoint before, and while I was first rather hesitant to try it, an English teacher lured me and some other guys in with free pizza. It's quite addictive, actually. A great thing to do to pass the time.
