Who else is excited about the upcoming baseball season?
I think it is little more than 2 weeks until pitchers and catchers get to training camp. Opening day is April 3 and everyone plays the next day.

Cubs improved themselves this last weekend (if the physicals are passed). And I want to see of Bonds has shrunk.

9. Would not hold my breath about the Mets
Everyone seems excited about Beltran, but he was not even the best center fielder in his division while in the American League - Hunter was. Actually, Edmonds was better in NL central (Edmonds is one of the best players in baseball - and it kills me to say it because I'm a Cubs fan).

3. Marlins have made themselves much better
However, until further notice, Atlanta is the team to beat. Have the Marlins been drawing better? I could think of nothing better than going to a ballgame then going out to dinner in Little Havana or South Beach. Maybe I'll plan a trip this year.

5. Where is their stadium?
I have been to Miami a couple of times but never saw it. (But only really drove around once, the other time I did not have a car).

8. Cautiously excited..
my Mariners made some pretty big acquisitions (Beltre, Sexon, Hargrove), so it could be a really good year... but then, it's the Mariners, so it could still be a big letdown.

10. Not a Sexon fan
Edited on Sun Jan-30-05 09:39 PM by AngryAmish
Too much of a lummox and I am not convinced he was not a juicer. Mariners should be a pure speed team, especially with Icharo.

on edit: Like Beltre tho. Good pick up.

12. Yeah..I'm afraid of Sexon being another Cirillo..
don't really know much about him, but he had some pretty admirable stats.. I pretty much agree about the Mariners needing to be a pure speed team, but they still need somebody with pop to drive in the speedsters, so yeah.. Beltre should do well.. hopefully Boone won't pitch a fit if Beltre bumps him further down the line-up.

13. Sucker for a high strike
Especially from power pitchers. When I say high, I mean chin high. However, if you throw him a belt high slider, ka-boom!

15. Don't thank me, thank Steve Stone
He always said you could get him out without throwing strikes. Outside slider, inside curve, high fastball. As long as you don't miss over the plate, KO.

Steve Stone quit this year. Every game he had an insight that I did not know. He will be missed.
