When I was a kid, we used to watch Hee Haw on Saturday evenings in our basement family room, snuggled up by the fireplace and munching on a huge bowl of popcorn. Good times...good times.
"Where oh where are you tonight? Why did you leave me here all alone? I searched the world over And I thought I found true love, But you met another and pphht! you was gone."
And don't forget Samples Sales...telephone number BR549!

My late grandfather, from Tennessee no less, WAS exactly like Archie Campbell in those barbershop skits. He was a barber for a living (and a preacher, but that's another story), and his stories and jokes were so much like Campbell's, I thought maybe someone spied on his barbershop for material.
Yes, I admit to having HeeHaw in my childhood TV diet. But since I have no shame anyway... :P

I got the rug pulled out from under me, came to my senses, and finally realized, at the age of forty, that I would never be lucky enough to find true love and that it would always come to others, especially all others around me, and never me no matter how much I have to give and badly I may want it???
Sorry, it's been a really rough couple of days and I'm not in the mood to joke about this. Maybe won't be for a very long time.

Hey -- listen to this: most people who are married are fronting. Trust me.... I know.... Scratch the surface of most married couples and the facade will come tumbling down. There's a really good chance that what you envy just might be a very good illusion.

So often these days people get married because it's time, or it's the logical next step, or because hey, they get along pretty good, why not, no such thing as true love anyway.
Lots of people think it's a myth just because they haven't found it. Maybe it is a myth.
And no, I'm not saying that because mine is getting married. :silly:

Screw that noise, I don't think I'm in for true love anymore. That was it.
I will be like the aunt in Great Expectations (uh, at least the Ethan Hawke version). With minimally more sex.
