Is CNN really the most trusted name in news? |
|
Compared to Fauxnews maybe.
I don't trust them.

1. No, the BBC. Or at least it has been. After Blair and his thugs |
|
get through with them, though, who knows?

2. That would be the New York Times or perhaps the Guardian... |
|
(some of us still read, after all)

8. The Guardian perhaps; but the New York Times? The Times |
|
has lost whatever credibility it may have had.

10. Yeah, for me it's the Guardian... |
|
but you have to admit that among the general American public the NYT still gets a lot more respect than it merits.

12. But then, among the general American public, Bush still gets |

respect when he merits none.

The more apt description would be "The Most Trusted News Source to Bring You The BushCo. Talking Points Under The Guise Of Fair Reporting"
They are actually more insidious than Faux because they report BushCo propaganda behind a thin veil of impartiality whereas Faux makes no bones about it's agenda. The positioning of the CNN as centrist and Faux as extreme actually works quite well as a strategy to control all sides of the debate. Mieneke and Midas appear to be competitors but, alas, they are not. So it is with CNN & Fox. Cable News is the finest American example of Kabuki Theater going.

7. Fast-food news for the fast-food sort of folk |
|
They are slanted, as all newsmedia are, and did a good thing at getting instant news coverage out 15 yrs ago. Now, no. I check in occasionally to see what the fast-food folk are watching, the better to be able to understand WTF they are doing to my country.

11. I trusted them more when Ted Turner was in charge. |
|
I have conflicting feelings about CNN. I have a very close relative who is in an executive position at CNN, though this person has no control over any slant or bias in the news that gets broadcast. I hate to trash CNN across the board, though, because it feels like I'm trashing my family member also.
