What was the first video game you ever played?
I think mine was the Nintendo World Class Track Meet with the powerpad. My mom HATED it because all it was was jumping up and down on the buttons as fast as you could or stomping on them while running in place.

Yeah, I'm that old. I even had one of those pong tables that were in bars, but my roommates brother sold it out of storage to get some cash for his recreational hobby.

10. Space Invaders
Probably was 1980 or so when I was 8. It was at a little hamburger restaurant, called the Mustard Seed, north of town across from the Co-op Grain Elevator.

I sometimes cringe when I think about how much time and money I've wasted on video games, but there was very little else to do in my small Kansas farming community. Fortunately, I never got into Everquest and stuff like that, but I still play an arcade one every now and then, and there are plenty of computer games - both ones you buy and ones you play on the internet to waste time on.

25. I love the Power Pad!
I still have mine, as a matter of fact. I got it (along with Super Mario Bros., Duck Hunt, and the Zapper light gun) with my NES back in the mid-'80s. It was great actually getting exercise while playing Nintendo

Anyway, my first video game was on the old Atari. I can't remember the specific title, but it was something with an escaped criminal throwing bombs.

28. I think Space Invaders.
Either that or Pac-Man. My dad was his company softball team and would take me along to games. Once afterward they went to a bar connected to a bowling alley and there was a tabletop Space Invaders and a standup Pac-Man. I still remember when I learned the rules of Pac-Man!
