6. None of that is mIRC specific.
in fact, none of that is even spyware as far as I can tell.

Wingating just involves using misconfigured proxys to spoof your IP address, has absolutely nothing to do with spyware.

10. See... That's The Problem With You Techies...
Edited on Mon Jan-31-05 10:01 PM by WillyT
You assume everybody reads the freakin journal articles, and does various beta-testing at home, and then... has a clue to what means what.

It was a simple question... should he be worried, or prepared for trouble, if he uses mIRC???

I don't know, but if you do, get off your high-tech-horse, meet the rest of the populace, and give a helping hand, mate!

:wtf:

LOL!!!

:P

9. Yes it does run in Windows which is why I stated in my previous post

There is no spyware in mIRC. There is no spyware in KVIrc.

You can join all the same channels on the IRC network of your choosing as you could if you were using mIRC. mIRC and KVIrc are just IRC clients, just like Outlook Express and Mozilla Thunderbird are mail clients.

5. I've never heard of any spyware in mIRC
and I've been running it for oh...10 years?
I used to be quite proficient at scripting in it as well.

Well, if you do get on IRC, try out the EFnet IRC network, and visit #BushSucks. I'm in there pretty often and although there isn't always alot going on, there are some pretty cool folks in there.

11. Just mirc itself doesn't have spyware
but if you accept uploads and run them, you can catch something.
