Anyone a member of IATSE?

Jaent is a Production Coordinator for feature films, and she's been asked if she'd like to join the local union. She was in the union years ago in LA, but wonders what good it would do her to join the union in Minneapolis. The film she's on now is a union shoot, but she's not required to be union due to her position.

Janet just doesn't know what to do since she works on these films at the management level. I looked for the local 490 website, but it's just a big ole' 404 error. That's not a good sign...

It's a strong union town, and she was a set painter/set decorator. She loved it - the IATSE guys were all really great to her - she got married on the stage at the Academy of Music after we did a show there, and the union guys didn't charge us overtime as her wedding present (they had to stay until after the wedding, and we went late, which would have cost us time-and-a-half, and they didn't charge us/her anything for it because she was a union member.

I know the guys that work at the Academy get great pay and benefits (it's also painfully expensive to put on a show there) (and it is pronounced like eye-Yahtsee!)
