GRRR....My DSL is not working and I am on |
|
DIAL UP....
They are rewiring the apartment building. I came home tonight to find some holes near my fuse box. I also notice that the DSL light on my DSL modem is flashing red. I have turned it off and then back on again to no avail.
I guess I shouldn't complain to loudly...at least I have dddddial up.
I also have Sirius so unless the rainy weather screws with that I'll be able to listen to Malloy tonight.

1. How can you have dial-up, but not DSL? |
|
Don't they use the same wires?

2. They are on the same phone line but |
|
use a different modem. Heck when I am on DSL on one computer I can plug the phone line into another computer and dial in on that one. Pretty cool!
If it's still not working tomorrow I'll be more concerned. The weather is pretty crappy here right now so that may have something to do with it.
As long as I can get Malloy tonight and Jam Central on Sirius until then.

3. If my cable internet goes out , i am f---- |
|
because I don't have a landline , I have a cell and I can't deal with dial up . Ok lately my cable has been going out and I thought it had something to do with the cold weather . One day I took the digital cable like and actually " resucitated "( jump started ) my cable modem , took the digital line off and then hooked my regular cable line back into my cable line and surprisingly , it worked . I don't know why it works like that but it works .

4. Yippeee!!!! My DSL is back.... |
|
What happened is that the electricians must have unplugged the DSL cables and when they plugged them back in, they were crossed and not put in the correct holes. I replugged everything in and it's working!!!!
