Rock & Roll HoF Inductors for 2005 (+ a question) |

Saw the list announced this morning:
Bruce Springsteen will induct U2 B-B King and Eric Clapton will induct Buddy Guy Rod Stewart will induct Percy Sledge Neil Young will induct the Pretenders
What's wrong with this picture?

There aren't any of today's innovators here to acknowledge and thank their predecessors.
Of course I'm old and cranky myself and I don't believe contemporary rock *has* any innovators, but that's my problem, not the HoF's.
What problem did you see?

Nothing against Springsteen, nothing against Neil. Love 'em both.
But how about letting someone like Liz Phair, PJ Harvey, etc., to induct the Pretenders? Besides Patti Smith & Kate Bush, Chrissie has done more for women in rock music than anyone else, ever.
How about allowing one of the bands who've operated under the influence of U2 to induct them?
The trend became apparent when Elton John inducted Elvis Costello. WTF?
