1. I love KC - Most of it anyway, even if part of it is in Kansas.
My homestate can be kind of hard-headed.

Hare bo!

2. We lived in KC for a couple of years - the Missouri
side of course.

We really enjoyed the city - except . . . .

for the weather. It sucks.

Good sports. Lots of live music. Nelson Art Gallery. Plaza. Best BBQ in the country (IMHO - I love GATES!)

7. Bryant's is great
except it is always packed.

There used to be another great place south of Richards-Gebaur a mile or more. Used to hit that place every month or so.

Hard to beat KC BBQ!

Also - There is a great Chicken Place (family style) - dont remember the name of it - down around 75th south or so off Paseo (or on Paseo)

And a great steak place down south (Jess and Jim's????)

Hard to keep weight down living in KC. Not the most health food in the land.

8. Jess and Jim's is good.
Everything is smothered in butter and lard.
We have a place in my town called Perry Fosters. Killer BBQ! He just opened up a new one in Independence. He makes the best sweet potato fries.

10. Are you thinking of Stroud's?
Great fried chicken, but I'm not sure it was on Paseo. I seem to remember it being on Troost. My memory is not what it used to be, and besides, I haven't been there in years.

11. Strouds - that's it
yeah - probably on Troost

I moved away from there 20 years ago - so my memory is a bit shaky.

12. Stroud's is actually beneath Troost on 85th St. You take a little ramp
down off Troost and there it is...Pan Fried Chicken at it's very best!

17. It's very nice today. Weather overall has been becoming more moderate
for a few years now. Milder winters, more like Portland in the winter.

18. And the Kemper Art Museum. And Lawrence is so close.
Have you ever eaten at 40 Sardines. Best restaurant in my considerable restaurant experience. I barely cook at all anymore.

where people thought that Blunt was wonderful. Hell, a few of my friends voted for him. It really sucks!
