Who thinks Pretty Metal is making a comeback? |

With the apparent resurgance of Motley Crue, do you think pretty metal, I.E. Poison, Warrant, Def Leppard, is on the verge of a comeback. I think there is a big market out there for unapologetic glam rock. I'm not a big fan of it but Feel it's garnering a younger following.

I really don't think anyone in their right mind could handle an 80s glam rock revival, but then again, * did get reelected so who's to say...

and yes, it's been coming back forever now. It has its ups and downs, good and bad, but unfortunately, I find most of it to be a bit hard to take. It's just my taste. I can only take so much of it because it grates on my nerves after a while. Believe it or not, I grew up on the stuff until Metallica, early Metallica, that is, and Megadeth came along. Oh, then I discovered punk and all else was forgotten and paled in comparison. On the other hand, I did love some of those hair bands, like Poison and Ratt. Warren Dimartini was a great guitarist...

been regrouping. It's just that not many people know it because they don't get airplay or media attention these days. IIRC, Def Leppard had a new album last year, and I think they were suing their label for not promoting it (or something like that). And the past couple of summers, bands like Warrant, Slaughter, etc have been packaged into multi-band concert bills to play the sheds. I don't know that it's making a comeback, but it's always been bubbling underground. Although, with Motley Crue getting the original band back together, putting out a "greatest hits" plus a new song or two, and touring, one never knows. Because Crue had broken through to the mainstream consciousness, they are getting a lot of attention: this morning, they were on "Live with Regis and Kelly," and if that's not mainstream television, I don't know what is.
