"gifts in return for donations" -- gifts that sound too good to be true |
|
I got a solicitation from the National Arbor Day Foundation. If I join with a donation of just $12, they claim, they will send me ten trees.
:wtf:
Have you rec'd this solicitation? I really want to bite, you know? Because I dig trees. We have tons of them, here naturally, on our little piece of land, and one of the dogwoods we planted died last year (and two of the gift trees are dogwoods) . . . but damn, it totally sounds too good to be true.
Have you ever rec'd other "sounds-too-good-to-be-true" charitable gift-for-donation solicitations?

2. I've Taken Them up on That Offer |
|
The trees are barely more than seedlings, but are viable. They do require a lot of care at first, however. The smoke tree I received didn't make it through the first season (my fault).
