Forgive me DU for I have sinned. |
|
It has been never since my last confession.
I....... shopped at Walmart today, but damn it, I got two cans of nice paint and painting supplies, all for a little over $50 dollars.
I'm sorry DU, will you ever forgive me? :o

like voting republican or supporting their positions. Sometimes wal-mart or whatever is the only place where you can buy something, so , I for example am a big eater of fast food.

I am not a real southerner, family is Pennsylvanian, Pittsburgh and Johnstown and all that shit. The real reason why many white southerners vote republican now but are still registered democrat is their own prejudice.

your repentance will come when you try to paint using that crappy wal-mart paint and discover that you have to paint two coats to cover what would take more expensive paints only one. Then, you'll never shop there again.
take it from an ex painter... never be cheap with either the paint or paint brushes.

You stoled my line, dagnabbit!
And I, too committed this most heinous of sins. But I was spending the night with friends and woke at two AM when the wine and Valium wore off and my "needs-a-root-canal-dry-socket" tooth decided to take over my head.
All I could think of was that there was a WalMart only minutes away. ( Don't have that curse at home) and so there I was at 3 AM buying anbesol.
I felt only a twinge of guilt, followed by pain relief and sleep.
My lack of DU hipness precludes a response from a cool DaddyO like you. Poor, poor sad me. But thanks for allowing me to confess. I feel better already. Now where the fuck is that anbesol....

i was just reading about walmart tonight from "thieves in high places" by jim hightower
pg. 169; "Wal-Mart is now the largest corporation on earth, having passed both General Motors and ExxonMobil for the top slot. It'll rake in nearly $250 billion in revenue in 2003--more than the entire GDP of Ireland and Israel combined (on one day late in 2002 it had $1.4 billion in revenue--more than the GDP of thirty-six nations)."
"It has surpassed GM as the world's largest employer, with 1.3 million workers--about one of every 120 workers in our country, and one of every twenty retail workers (more employees than the U.S. Army has soldiers)."
pg. 170: "Of the ten richest people in the world, five are Waltons, with a total of $100 billion in personal wealth--more than Bill Gates."
pg 172: "While the company brags that 70 percent of its workers are full-time, it defines "full-time" as twenty-eight hours a week, meaning that these employees gross under $11,000 a year. Health care benefits? Only if you've been there two years, then the plan hits you with such huge premiums and high deductibles that few can afford it--only 38 percent of Wal-Marters are covered."
sorry to get so serious about it here. just thought i could offer a little information for anyone who didn't already know (thanks to jim hightower).
it's not always easy not shopping there but i've managed to do it for over a year now and before that i hardly went there and every time i did i felt guilty about it (ever since the "walmart is bad for people" starting making news). but you can do it. i know you can. we can all do it if we try.
