I still watch Conan O'Brien~ but other than that, we quit paying for cable a year ago and have only watched Conan (and Colts games) since.

6. I'm not completely tv free, but... |
|
I got rid of cable the day after the election and do not watch mainstream news. I wonder what they would be forced to do if all dems did that?
I have netflix, which is amazing, and occasionally I'll watch Will & Grace or some other non-news show.

but TV news free, well I guess I have to start counting all over again from Tuesday but before then it's been at least 3 years.
This past Tuesday my regular morning routine was interrupted and I found myself having to wait around for 15 mins with no book handy or computer.
I watched the local news. Oh the horror! I had to shut it off after about 1.5 mins.
Lead off with CA judge says there's no rational reason to deny gay marriage. Followed immediately with a story about a guy who cut open a rotten potato and the rotten bit looked like a cross, the anchor woman started it off with something like "There's been a lot of news lately about Food and religion." Then in rapid fire succession, "Man goes on shooting spree in hotel." They didn't mention it was in fact where his church met.
All of that in the first 60 seconds. I felt sick after watching it. I'll stare into space before I do that again.

"why did Ladyhawk..." options simply because it didn't have any votes. I am not tv free but for the moment I am still vcr free, which means I'll be watching much much less television shows now. I only really watch the CSI:pick a city shows, House MD and NCIS as it stands right now. With no Dan Rather, I'll only be getting my news from DU posts now. I swore off the cable news networks about 2 years ago. It was easy too, especially since I hate pep rallies to begin with. All the propoganda on the msm news shows on television made me sick to my stomach.
