3. Unbelievable!
I want to see the guy making those... wow. I cannot imagine being able to play with your own perception enough to create those! Geez!

7. Outstanding. I'm assuming...
...that the anamorphic images (it would look skewed if looked at straight on) are being created on flat media elsewhere (sketch pad, computer, etc), and then the traditional "grid" technique is used to reproduce the artwork on the flat sidework to save time.

In order to CREATE something like that on the sidewalk, however, one would have to constantly go back to the reference point (where the photos are being taken from) and tweak the drawing, which would take FOREVER.

He's an outstanding artist, however, not just for the execution but for simply deciding to do it.

9. Yeah, that makes sense
Because it's only going to look 'right' from one angle, so what you said about going back to the reference point makes sense. It's just... wow. I mean, it plays with my perceptions just to look at it, which I know is the whole point, but wow.

12. A similar technique is used for painting ads on rugby pitches.
You'll see what I mean the next time you watch a rugby match on TV.

10. can you imagine the distracted pedestrian
suddenly realizing it's in front of him and thinking he is about to stumble into a hole in the sidewalk. Very nicely done.

It reminds me of this mural on the side of the Fountainebleau Hilton resort on Miami Beach. The road curves right before it, but sometimes it looks like you can drive right through it.
