So, he's been deployed for two weeks now.
And I haven't heard anything. No e-mail, no call (which I wasn't expecting), and no letter. Was I stupid to think that a year fling constituted a semi-relationship?

1. Well, if you want my humble opinion, don't be so hard on yourself.
If it was a year and you're posting about it here, obviously some feelings developed. There's nothing wrong with respecting your own emotions about the situation. Hopefully, you'll hear something soon.

3. Thank you.
:) I appreciate that. And yes, feelings developed on my end definitely. He's just so introverted as far as his emotions are concerned. We're not officially a couple, but it would be nice to hear something. (and trust me, I know he's busy, but a five second e-mail?)

2. I took my bf almost 2 weeks to email me
I am sure he will email you. He is probably very busy right now getting aquainted with the situation. Give him some more time. Of course you can email him also. Asking how he is doing and ask him if he needs anything.

8. I can absolutely understand you
when my bf went to the States over Christmas and New Year (he left on the 24th) I almost freaked out because I didn't heard from him till New Years Eve (he called me at midnight German time). My mom and brother had to live with a very upset and grumbling woman. I actually cried New Years Eve around midnight when I got his call. I still am wondering that he couldn't find a computer to email me. I am impatient to. And I am really glad that my bf emailed me Monday. It was really a relief.

7. I wouldn't consider it to be a fling.
After a year of dating, it's more than a "fling".

You'll hear from him. It takes a lot of doing last minute things to leave home for months.

 don't be too upset ... pack for Boston instead :woohoo:

10. I know.
:D Impatience is getting the best of me I suppose. I normally don't get this wrapped up in guys. I'm more take me or leave me. It's just with him, I know there's that chance I won't see him again.

*sigh*

I can't WAIT for Boston! It's such a much needed break! We're going to have a blast!

Hell, I stayed on base three times in the past year. His friends were very accepting of me and he knew my political views (which is why we never talked about that subject). I have major respect for what he and others do.

20. Actually, that's very untrue.
His best friend is a strong Dem and there are many men and women in the military with the same beliefs. So unanimous really doesn't work in this situation sweetheart. And by the way, two weeks doesn't constitute being absent from someone's life. Just on temporary vacation.

I realize you're new around here so I'll explain. The Lounge is a place to joke, bitch, complain, laugh, and normally poke fun at oneself. Today, I felt like complaining. :D It's pretty easy to understand.

24. Anytime
 glad I could help. I'm thinking of starting a post ranting about my brother. He's been in IT desktop support for years, and is getting laid off; his company lost the BIG account contract renewal bid. He blew off the recent college alumni career fair 'cause "he had too many irons in the fire." Trying to help start a company, and hoping that a marketing job will come thru'.

He's still gotta eat. You just can't help some people! :banghead:
