DC-area DUers: Do the cherry trees muck up your commute?
They are lovely, yes. They make the Tidal Basin a glorious place to spend a spring afternoon (if you like milling elbow to elbow with idiots who keep tearing off blossoms).

But god dammit, it took me & Mrs. V. too fucking long to get to work today!!

5. actually, since I had a meeting today, yes
normally it's green to yellow (U Street to King Street) but today I had a 7:30 meeting so I got on the blue line @ Macpherson around 8:15 and took it all the way round. no problem.

9. Not along my bike route.
As the weather warms, there are more touristen stumbling about. I'm thinking of replacing my bell with a fog horn to wake them out the their stupors.

This morning along the Reflecting Pool, I had to weave through a mess of overweight young people, wearing identical Naval Academy t-shirts, shuffle and pant their way to the memorial.

10. All week!!!
On Weds night it took me over 1.5 hours to get from my house to school downtown all because 66 inside the beltway was at a standstill and everyone waiting on the bridge to get off on Independ. Ave

Last night I boycotted class and went home instead, which was smart as it turns out class was cancelled.

Some classmates are meeting tomorrow for a review session and there is no way I'm going near DC this weekend.

I asked a classmate on Weds night: "Am I a bad person for hating Cherry Blossom time?"

11. I'm asking myself the same question.
I ranted to one of my bosses this morning, "just cut all the trees DOWN!" He said "I'm ashamed, I thought you were a tree hugger." I said "I am, just not in the early spring."

:grr:!
