Now you can vote for the new Pope
Of course it will count as much as a vote in a Diebolded state, but you can do it anyway http://www.electapope.com/

Bad news is, the ballot's longer than the California recall election, and there's no background on any of these guys, so only the hardcore Catholics who have read up on all these Cardinals will be able to know who the most liberal candidate is.

If anyone out there meets that descrption, let us know so we can DU the poll O8)

1. I voted for Cardinal Danneels of Belgium.
Actually, from what I've read of him, he sounds slightly progressive...in the context of the College of Cardinals, that is.

2. btw, they can elect anyone to be Pope even a lay person. he doesn't have
Edited on Fri Apr-08-05 11:35 AM by ElsewheresDaughter
to be a cardinal they can even elect anyone to become Popea non-but, i believe that has only happened 1 or 2 times

I'm just praying that the Holy Spirit doesn't want Cardinal Tettamanzi :scared:

Possible Popes are, strictly speaking, any male Christian cleric or layman, who is not a heretic, in schism, or notorious for simony. He has to have reached the age of reason. However, the last Pope who was not a Cardinal was Pope Urban VI who was elected in 1378. With this election, the Church was thrown into forty years of the Great Schism of the West. At one point in this Schism, there were three Popes claiming valid election. Consequently, since Pope Urban VI, every Pope has been elected from the members of the College of Cardinals.
