Anyone see any good movies this weekend? - I saw the new Woody Allen |
|
Melinda and Melinda. I really enjoyed it. The actress who plays Melinda is great, she played both versions of the character so distinctively. Will Ferrell was pretty good as well, although he always seems the same to me in all of his movies. (It's kind of hard not to see him as SNL's George Bush).
Anyone see anything good? :bounce:

12. I actually liked Fever Pitch a lot, except for Jimmy Fallon |
|
I continue to think that he's waiting for his gay vampire movie script. Maybe acting lessons would help...

9. I watched Salt of the Earth |
|
for a class... Good pro-labor union, pro-women's rights film. And it was made in the 1950s! http://imdb.com/title/tt0047443/

It was for an intercultural communication class. Doing a group project on Mexican culture and a group member suggested we see this movie...
It's a fun class but can move a little slow. :)

16. That was blacklisted Henry Bibermans last film I beleive. |
|
That film was not allowed to shown for YEARS due to its pro-union/commie content. McCarthy'd, big time!

Finally got around to seeing it -- and it was better than I thought it would be. (I usually don't enjoy boxing films at all.) Hilary Swank is a class act, and I like the clean, sparse lines and angles he uses. He also composes the scores nowadays.
Bad Education is coming out on DVD very soon. Almodovar does great commentaries.

I do like Hilary Swank, but someone told me the ending and now my desire to see the movie has kind of waned. But I'm sure I will eventually.
