Tiger (Mac OS X 10.4) is coming out on the 29th
http://www.apple.com/macosx/

The Dashboard is what I'm really looking forward to using--especially the Weather widget--the new Safari will have RSS, o I can tailor my news, and Spotlight will be very useful for system wide searchs. so of course I preorderedmy copy from Apple :bounce: After Tiger, I'll get UT2K4--having a bunch of vechiles and wild maps sound more fun than Doom would on my iMac G5.

When I placed my preorder, the salesperson menton some type of big ass combo package--Tiger, iWorks, iLife, and an iSight for 400 something :wow: I'm kind of undecided on a new printer, so I'll hold off to buying iWorks a little longer..

2. not a mere update
This is a whole new beast, the normal updates such as security patches are free.

4. Yeah, but we Linuxers don't have to pay to upgrade from Fedora Core 3 to 4
And we can flaunt new desktop environments, new GCC compilers, while you Mac OS Darwiners have to still pay.

3. Doesn't matter to me.
I'm still sticking with System 9. Workflow is paramount around here.
