Going through a bit of drug withdrawal |
|
I take prescription pain pills for my arthritis, and the stuff I take - Ultram - is pretty good. But it can be addictive, and after a while it can saturate the system. I know that's happened when I sit down and suddenly wake up six hours later (in the middle of the day). When that starts happening, it's time to bite the bullet and flush it out of my system for at least a week.
I don't mind, but after the first day my legs are aching horribly, and after I took the dog for afternoon walkies I now feel fairly crippled. Hope I can hold out. It doesn't really do any good to substitute anything-- if I wanted, I could take hydrocodone, but that makes me feel slow and stupid (more than usual) in the morning. The only good substitue is grass, and I don't have any on hand. Bummer.
Guess I suffer for a few days. Smoke one for me if you have it available!

2. Would a couple of glasses of wine |
|
or a six pack of beer do any good? Alcohol is my all purpose medication. Sometimes there doesn't really have to be anything wrong with me and I will partake of the brewskis.
Sorry about the pain. Here's to the next few days going by quickly :toast:

I don't touch alcohol in ANY form. Been that way for 23 years.

Sorry about that. I wouldn't have suggested that if I'd known better.

I tried Ultram and it worked for awhile w/the pain but I quickly built up a tolerance to it. I also discovered that it gave me one hell of a headache for some reason. :wtf: Apparently a side-effect for some people.
I have a lot of pain in my legs and feet. I take about 3 Vicoprofens a day.
I also have aspirin and codeine which helps a lot at night.
Be careful with Ultram. It causes a side effect aka "urinary retention" which can be a real problem for some.
Probably the best thing if you are opting for no pain pills is to take aspirin if you can tolerate it as it reduces inflammation. Also, ibuprofen is helpful for some too.
I hope you are feeling better soon. Try some warmth on the legs, maybe that will help and a short walk. Believe me I can relate 100%.
