1. Frame. Where else would I put the junk under my bed?

5. I guess I just wanted to see how unusual I was, to just have a mattress
on the floor. I like it that way. In my bedroom, I just have a large mattress on the floor, two dressers, and a small book case. It's firmer, more stable, less distracting that way, and one less thing I have to move, when I move.

2. A high quality Futon on a simple wood frame
I hate sleeping on bouncy beds. I've been on a Futon for about 15 years now and would have it no other way.

7. I'm 47, and I don't get out of bed, I roll out.
It's easier that way.

Don't ask  The mattress and box springs are currently on the floor.

8. That mattress would have to be 3 feet thick...
for me. No way I could get up and down from the floor every day. UGH. Give me a frame, a tall box spring, and a big, firm mattress!

9. I think Winston Churchill once said:
"Any man who is under 30 and doesn't sleep on a frameless matress has no heart and any man over 30 who doesn't sleep on a matress with a frame, has no brain."

10. Floor!
Priced headboards lately? They're tremendously overpriced when the matress and springs works better anyway just put on the floor. I'll never understand why people spend money they don't have to. The repuke worshiping consumption is just too rampant.

11. on the floor
When we took in one of my son's friends last year, I gave up my big room because my son's room would never have fit the two of them. How true that turned out to be--my bed frame didn't even fit into the room (couldn't open the door).

So my boxspring and mattress are on the floor, until one or both of them leave.

It's a small price to pay.

14. I used to do the "mattress on the floor" thing,
But it just doesn't seem right. Putting it on a frame turns it from a "mattress" to a "bed," and that's a big difference. Plus, it gives me a place to store more of my crap!

17. What do you mean by that? Does that mean no mattress whatsoever?
Edited on Thu Apr-21-05 10:36 PM by norml
Or does it mean you carry a bedroll in a backpack? Please excuse my density.
