OMG, I sound like a 5 year old girl...

Anyway, it's probably genetically modified. The way I keep eating it, I'll sprout another arm or finger or something... if it's the something I'm thinking about, it may not be totally bad either. It depends on your point of view, but I sure am a real pervo tonight! :evilgrin:

Now I sound like a warped adolescent 14 year old boy...

So, which is better; the 5 year old girl or the 14 year old boy? :shrug:

2. Finally got some locally grown stuff

after a few weeks of shipped-from-FL-and-tough-as-hay ears. Heaven! We're also trying to grow some sweet corn this year. Imagine being able (if you're a city-dwelling Northerner) to walk out into the backyard and pick y'self a few ears for dinner? Just have to keep the critters away, somehow . . .

It's big down here in Texas! They sell it darn near everywhere! Sprinkle some chili powder on it for a little extra kick!

7. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

been eating a lot of sweet corn this summer. Tryuing to make up for last year, when we ended up never eating it. Damn!! First summer without sweet corn, and only beucase I kept saying, "Ah, I'll buy some next week."

I like it plain, or with lots of butter and salt; love it steamed, love it boiled, and especially love it roasted on the grill. Yowser!

10. I'm An Old Southern Boy Who Loves COTC... BUT...

I've heard that it's rude to serve corn-on-the-cob to Germans (or Europeans in general?) because corn-on-the-cob is considered to be swine food and only suitable for humans when it's been cut from the cob.

Is this true, or did I dream it?

12. From what I understand.....

COTC is just not available in Europe (perhaps your explanation is the reason 'why' it's not available)....however, I have several European friends who consider it a real treat when they come to the US for the summer.

Btw, I'm growing it in my home garden this year....first time...i'm really not sure what to 'make' of the fluffy thing with the red (flowered?) tinge coming out of the tops there...can someone who 'knows what they're doing give me a clue? Otherwise, I'm just gonna let is grow (of course) and watch what happens!

Love the corn on the cob. It's sooooo summer!! We'll it's in season for at least 5 months in California, anyway. Corn on the cob is nutritious, delicious, and dog-gone-it, people like it!
