RW Christians: "we're persecuted against!" to which I say |
|
if by "persecuted" you mean "Waaaah! you won't let us bullies dictate how you should live your lives" then I guess I would say,
"Guilty!"
Can I get an Amen??

3. What a crock of camel turds! |

Many non-mainstream Xtian groups came to this country, because they actually WERE being persecuted for their beliefs in the 'Old Country". Now they can go every Sunday, or every day for that matter to their little church, and have their little service and nobody else gives a flying fig....so what the hell is the problem???????? Is it 'persecution" to say to someone else..."Hey, you are welcome to your religious beliefs, and how you pracice them,,,,however, I don't subscribe to those beliefs and prefer not to have them dictate any aspect of my life................the same as I do not expect you to have to live according to MY beliefs"

5. They are rewriting history. I received a terrible note in my email |

about how the founding fathers of this nation were all Christians cut of the conservative evangelical cloth. Of course, I had to debunk it.
THIS is why they are cutting funding to our schools. They don't want us to actually learn anything in Civics class or be able to think for ourselves.

perhaps the 'Founding Fathers' they are referring to were the folks up in Salem, MA...who burned witches

teaching kids how to pass standarized tests not to think for themselves or even, God forbid, an opinion. I think it is all part of a RW plan to eventualy privatize the entire education system so the RW nuts can teach only the propaganda they want in public school, plus it will be easier to keep an eye on potential Lefty agitators too. Scary stuff.

Televangelists are really pushing the victim angle, more than ever recently. It's a cheap ploy to "mobilize the troops".

14. Criticism and pointing out hypocrasy is NOT persecution. |
|
In fact, it belittles the term and is an insult to people who are really persecuted across the world.

I would also add that Jesus said something about being blessed when one is persecuted falsely, on my account. IMO, these religious extremists aren't doing anything on behalf of Jesus, because they aren't paying attention to what he said.
