it is totally addictive! It saved my marriage after Nov. 2, 2004! My husband, even though he voted for Kerry, did not understand the depths of my despair and frustration at the outcome. At DU, I found the support I needed, and have learned oh-so much politically.

17. Actually, many years ago, before he got concerned with what his parents

thought... He used to be very active politically in the Houston area. He was active recruiting for the Democratic Party here. He's a little quieter with his politics nowadays, and tries to come off more conservative than he really is around his parents (far RW'rs - UGH), and pleased me immeasurably when he voted for Kerry in 2004. I think he's coming around again gradually, and I am holding out great hope for him. He lurks occasionally here at DU, as he will mention certain threads he's read. Not as active (or addicted) as me...

What is it with DU that is so addictive? I can't think of another website that I just HAVE to check in on so frequently during the day and night!

7. It is 1:15am here in Houston...

and I have just finished painting my coat closet, walls and trim, and 6 shelves, thank you very much, with 2 coats of Kilz, 2 coats of trim paint, and 1 coat of satin-finish wall paint. Hallelujah! Its a project that I have been wanting to finish for a loooonnnnggg time, and I was determined to get it done tonight. Started at approx. 2pm this afternoon, and just wound it up. Worked straight thru dinner, so I am now sitting down to DU with a bowl of spaghetti. Yummy...


Thank you for your early congratulations... I have been looking forward to this day, for a very long time!! it makes you feel almost 'grown up', versus being an 'adolescent' at DU!

So am I! I just moved to Houston from New Orleans in 2001. Lived in New Orleans since 1972 before that. That's home and I sure do miss it! How ya doin' doll?

I lurked here daily since the Summer of 2001, but didn't have much to say. After a heathly dose of political reading and learning I decided to register and open my big mouth... though, mostly pictures came out.

Do you photoshop them yourself? I am trying to learn photoshop, but there's sooo much to learn. Mr. Lavenderdiva was a computer professor at a college here, and knows all the ins-and-outs of photoshop, but like they say, spouses often aren't the best ones to teach us such things!
