I just had a colonoscopy and an endoscopy and I feel great!

What a lot of dread over nothing. Swilling the MiraLax (should be called Max-a-Lax) and Gatorade and popping Dulcolax yesterday was the worst part, and it wasn't that bad. I had the procedures about three hours ago under the absolute minimum amount of sedation. The gastroenterologist would have done the colonoscopy without sedation, but the gag reflex has to be subdued for the endoscopy. I came home and slept an hour and feel great now. I'm getting ready to walk the dogs and then go out to dinner with my wife. Steak night!

BTW: The endoscopy results were perfectly normal (a relief given my Dad's esophageal cancer two years ago). The colonoscopy yielded two very small polyps that the doc said did not at all look problematic (sent to the path lab anyway).

I was given a blend of Versed and and Demerol, and I **floated** out of the doc's office without a care!!! For days afterward, I craved that feeling..."Hawaii in a syringe," the nurse called it! :)

Any other time I would have slurped it up. But my deadline looms with a new client magazine in the UK. By taking minimum sedation, I was able to work last night and again at 4:30 this morning. The big cocktail would have put my dick in my watch-pocket for three days. Know whut I mean?

11. I was knocked out for my colonoscopy a few years ago.

Glad of it. And I had to drink something with a different name the night before that was FUCKING NASTY.

But in the end, the doctor said my insides were so damn healthy looking, he was going to use the video to show med students what a colon is SUPPOSED to look like!

Whooo hoooo!!!!! I felt....sort of proud in a weird way.
