3. Yep! I raised a tons of baby greys. Those are mine in the pic.
I used to put the whole clutch in my lap. They'd put their heads under my hand while I stroked their red tails. There would be three or four red tails sticking straight up...so funny. :) Baby greys want their attention NOW, goddammit! Scratch, scratch, scratch...LET US OUT!

6. I'm no longer an aviculturist.
I had really good luck with Senegals and African greys, but couldn't get my conures to do squat. When I moved all the breeders outside, they stopped producing and started having some serious issues. That happened about the time I had another health crisis, so I sold the breeders. I only have the crazy Amazon, now. :) He wouldn't know what to do with a female parrot. He thinks he's human.

12. I'm sorry to hear that.
I'm sure you loved all of your birds. I fully understand how much of your time and energy was involved in raising healthy bird babies.

My best wishes to you for a return to good health:hug:

The only Amazon I've ever spent time with was very intelligent AND very funny! He ruled that home, he is loved and spoiled.

How old is your companion Amazon?

15. He's eighteen. :) I've had him since he was a clumsy, just-weaned

bappy. Yes, he can be very funny, but if he thinks I'm up in the morning, he won't shut up:

It goes something like this:

"Laura?"
Pause.
"LAURA?"
Pause.
"LAURA?!"
Pause.
"Where's that Laura?"
"LAURA!!!!!!!"
Pause
"AAAAAA! AAAAAAA! AAAAAAAAAA!" (I'm sure my neighbors LOVE that one. That bird has a set of lungs like you wouldn't believe.)

I try not to answer because it just encourages him. If I do answer, it goes something like this:

"LAURA?!?!?!?!?!?!?"
"What?!"
"Hello!"
:eyes:

Hehe

2. I have a parrot named ricky.... ricky may be a boy, may be a girl, it is
the only one who knows what it is, as I refuse to pay for DNA testing to determine sex and he/she already knows his/her name. Keeping him/her for bird flu presence... No just kidding. He/she likes to get in my hair when I'm posting.

9. Do you have any pictures of them without feathers?
I find it fascinating that they grow into beautiful birds after seeing what they look like without feathers. My Twiggy use to turn his head and listen to what I was saying and then repeat it.

13. I'd take ONE grey!
My husband is dying to get a Congo. I'm not sure how my YN Amazon will do with it. Shes very protective of us right now and I could only imagine what she'll be like with another bird.

Although, she LOVED my moms Senegal (and hated her Conure). I guess its all touch and go with them and who they like.

If we do get one (which wont be a for a while), we have a huge cage for Bingo now and my husband insists we need to get another big cage for the Congo. Now.. Bingo doesnt even USE half of her cage.. She primarily stays in one spot of the cage when shes in there.

Would it be a bad idea to put another bird in with her? I know it'll take them time to get used to one another, but Bingo has one hell of a bite when shes pissed.
