4. Mine
I hate it when people go into the Cash Only Express Line & then insist on paying by check.

I want to grab some business cards from a Literacy Volunteers place & keep them in my wallet for the next time it happens, as it always seems to be when I'm in a hurry.

11. I am super stressing over my
vacation coming up Saturday. Money, money, money. Never enough money. I am self employed so when I don't work, I don't get paid. So being gone for over a week will cost me over $1000.00 plus the money it costs to go on this vacation (over $1,000.00). Plus my friend will be taking care of my dogs. I have never left them this long. 9 whole days. They have a doggie door and they can go in and out as they please, but no mommy or daddy for 9 whole days. Plus I have an aquarium full of fish. I hope my friend does everything right. I appreciate her doing this, but I worry. Vacations are about relaxing not stressing, yet I am STRESSED!!!!!

13. Me too
but my vacation starts tomorrow and we pull into NYC on Friday. Also money , money , money. My oldest is watching my doggies, kitties and fishies. It's exciting BUT you're right, it can be stressful. I have to go and get all the luggage together today and make sure we don't forget anything. My stress level will be better tomorrow when it's too late to stress over things, just enjoy.

Money, money, money.

28. At least I don't have to worry about a flight
Decided to take Amtrak where we purchased two little sleeper cars. Get on the train around midnight, sleep, wake up and arrive in NYC before 2 pm. I think it's more relaxing then flying but getting two sleepers cost me 400 dollars more then flying.

You should take a train soon before Bush defunds the damn thing.

That was my first option but it cost a good bit more than flying, so, we opted for flying. I hate to fly.

16. Actually, "it pays the bills, at least" is what 70% of Americans...
...say is the reason they come to work. Work in the U.S. is almost universally stultifying and monotonous. The U.S. workplace also values highly those one-dimensional beings who derive their entier sense of self from it alone, as opposed to more well-rounded (ie, emotionally healthy) people.

I would suggest you pursue a passion on the side, to keep yourself engaged in life. Cuz for 7 out of 10 of us, we will never find that vaunted mythic fulfillment from work.

That's what I do, pursue my passions outside of work. The cash comes from this velvet trap. But on my free time, I am a different person.

19. That's another issue.
I have a lot of little interests, none of which have developed into a passion. This might be one of the reasons I've been in a funk lately. :)

I am a different guy away from the office though, except the DU posting. :7

22. If yer different away from the office, yer on the right track.
I only worry about those so wrapped into their work identities they are exactly the same even when they are off! Watch out for those types! Experience is speaking! You know the ones...volunteer for every off-duty company function and etc. LOL. They will rise, but they will do so by stepping on you.

I have my farm, my 1969 Ford Fairlane restoration rod, my '51 GMC five-window pickup, etc. to help keep me sane.

I actually drive more cautious when in the presence of any vehicle with a W sticker. I am an numbers man at heart and odds are they will be obnoxious and rude drivers bordering on dangerous...

Odds are also that it will be a big ass SUV....Big suprise huh?

Odds are also that it will have that stupid fish logo..yet another coincidence...

Odds are the driver will be a middle aged white male/female...

damn this is starting to get creepy...
