"Students bare naked truth about schools"
MANILA (Reuters) - A dozen college students stripped near the presidential palace in the Philippines on Wednesday to protest the deteriorating state of the education system.

The students, all young men who did nothing to cover their faces or bodies, waved placards as they paraded for about 15 minutes at a busy intersection in Manila before police shooed them away.

"The naked truth is that the government never treats education as a basic right," they said in a statement.

They said students would suffer from a shortage of nearly 50,000 classrooms and 3.5 million desks and books this year.
