Doctor Phil - Democrat Incognito?
Let me start by saying I'm not a big Dr Phil fan. I find his "self help in eight minutes" to be missing the point. I'm not a big fan of therapy either. I think it *can* work, but in most cases its no different than having a complete stranger look at things objectively.

Having said that, I don't get why there's all the Anti-Dr Phil hate here. I watch his show, because the wife watches it religiously. She's read his books and follows his advice. By and large, the advice is shallow, but it's not bad.

What most people don't *get* about Dr Phil is that despite his shilling and DIY Self Help empire, he dispenses Progressive Democrat-like Advice with the intonation and sound of a Republican. We Dems don't like the sound of it, but all the progressive messages are there: Talk to your kids about the war, let them form their opinions rather than knee jerk, don't spank, working parents are positive role models. This stuff is gold as it sends *our* message into freeperland incognito.

3. He may be a Republican
but his advice is pretty solid Dem stuff. You find a Repub who advocates:

- No spanking
- Talking with your kids about the Iraq war and a possible draft
- Public Schools over Home Schooling
- Respecting others viewpoints
- Working mothers vs. Stay at home moms

He's also a good friend of Medea Benjamin, who is Green.

Remember, you can't get a drivers license in Texas without being a Repub.

4. Dr. Phil....
is a self-promoting, agonizingly pompous ass-clown. I have absolutely no respect for anyone like that, Republican or Democrat.
