All you need as a bunch of physics majors and some liquid nitrogen. (the two ingredients have a tendency to appear together).

everything freezes by the time you get to 0Kelvin. But 80 proof vodka freezes at about -27C and 100 proof at roughly -40C.
simple chemistry which should be backed up by practica experimentation.
I know it does freeze at a reasonable temperature since I cam back from vacation one time in college (maine in January is cold) the heat was out and the bottle of absolut in the window (between window and screen) was frozen...
