stupid cow-irkers

Ok, I got a fun work related story for y'all.

So, every other Wednesday we have a staff meeting in my office. Today was staff meeting day and like every staff meeting day my boss sent out the agenda this morning.

I open it to see if I'm on for doing any project updates, see I'm off the hook, and close it.

Anyway, right now I'm working on a Special Education audit and the team leader is off on vacation this week. My boss assigned one of the other team members to do the update on that audit at the meeting.

Staff meeting is at 1:30. I go to lunch about 12:30 just like I do every day. At 1:22 the idjit who was assigned to do the Special Ed update comes into my cubicle and says, "so is there anything you want me to mention in the staff meeting for Special Ed?"

And I looked at him like the idjit he is and said, "Uh...you maybe should have thought to ask me more than 8 minutes before the meeting."

That's when he said the thing that really set me off. "Well...I didn't want to interrupt your lunch hour."

I just about lost it. I turned around and all but yelled at him. "We got that agenda at 9:27 this morning. You had all day to ask me. Go away."

He sputtered for a second and made some noise again about my lunch hour and I told him again to just get out of my cubicle and leave me alone.

I should have just hit him over the head with a shovel and put him out of my misery. :)

This was my day. :) Good thing I can laugh about it, huh?

2. Not a very good one

He sputtered a lot and mis-spoke several times and my boss was ALL OVER his ass. It was beautiful. :)

Guess frame of reference is everything.

And, no, I do not miss office politics one whit. More fun watching the cows this time of year.
