Holy Freaking Crap....Thank You Georgie and your funding cuts!

This morning, I got a call not to come into work. I started this job last week and it was going really well, so I found this unusual. Apparently, the higher ups had put in effect a hiring freeze the day before I started. They thought that upper management wouldn't mind because it was just one person technically given the job before the freeze happened. They were going to hire two people, but instead they just chose me because of my experience and because they wanted me instead. I will have the job waiting for me in October if I still want it, but because of funding issues this summer, they can't afford my salary. They were impressed with my performance and the boss was really unhappy to do this. My headhunter has promised me that I will have the first priority on any job that comes through in the next few days. I am glad that I will be able to start in October, but by then, I will hopefully have a job that does not depend on federal funding.

all I can think to say...is...that figures...it's happened to me 3 different times in the last 2 years...lucky I have a job, just looking for a better one with insurance....
